I am interested in setting up a (I guess ABA lending library). I think that it is very important for us to
stick together and help out each other where we can. We all remember how the majority
of us all went into this. So if there is any kind of materials at all that you don't need
or use anymore could you give me a call at 882-9196 or email me. I know we could help out alot of families
that are just starting. Thank you.

I am looking for a therapist to play with my 22 month old son. We have a program set up at our home in Langley and we want to establish a good
consistent team from the beginning with him. It is a totally different situation then most other programs because there is
no rigidity or behaviours yet. And with a great program hopefully there won't be. So if you have a therapist or anyone interested
in this unique experience call me at 882-9196.

SINCERE, DEDICATED, GIFTED, OPTIMISTIC

TEACHING and/or CONSULTING

I am looking for employment spending time directly relating with child/children diagnosed with autism, and informally teaching. and/or consulting with parents and/or researchers of autism, who are open-minded and clearly committed.

I have a supurb gift for engaging children in playful and learning activities and I am highly experienced in professional fields of communication.

I experience a sensory phenomena myself called "synesthesia" which a scientific researcher established a connection between synesthesia and autism. This makes me sensitive and insiteful to what those with autism go through. The more I read about autism, the more I want to help.

At the same time, much of my work has a central theme of communication and I value it greatly. At the age of 19, I taught and was delivering Computer Science lectures to an audience of 80 at the University of Regina. I write songs and paint. I have published newspaper articles, facilitated meetings for lawyers and advocates, and have taught/lead workshops. I have devoted thousands of hours of volunteer/community work. I was employed at IBM Canada and while there, I received 3 cash awards for creative suggestions.

I am truly dedicated and sincere and especially respectful toward children. I am very spontaneous and very gifted in engaging children in learning activities in fun ways for them. I cannot think of any activity that commands so much impeccability as relating to and communicating with a child. It is very meaningful work for me.

If you would like to meet or speak with me, please email me at jshaw@intergate.bc.ca or telephone.

Sincerely,
Joanne Shaw
